My name is Mohammed Faysal Ahmad, I´m 27 years old, and grew up in a small town in Bavaria, to be a little more specific in "Oberfranken" in Hof. There I finished my "Abitur". Subsequently I moved to Hanover in order to study Economical Engineering with the main focus on engineering. So how do I find myself now at Continental? A very good friend of mine, who I got to know in Hanover, works for Continental and this motivated me to apply for an internship/Bachelor thesis there. My assignment worked out so well, that I was invited to be part of the ProMotion Program, a development program for students at the company. Now I am doing an internship at Continental in Cuautla, Mexico and plan to finish my Master's degree in Berlin next year.

I currently do my masters in mechanical engineering at the Technical University Braunschweig, Germany. I am working in Continental since October 2010. I started as product developer for the departement `The Amerikas`. So I developed commercial tires (trucks and busses) for Brazil mainly and as well some articles for the US market. Oct 2013 I am movedc to Jundiai / Brazil (close to Sao Paulo). Here I am a `lonely` engineer between around 150 marketing and sales colleagues :-) I still work for product development Truck & Bus tires - now I make the 'translation' between our Marketing & SalesTeam here in Brazil and our central Research & Development department in Hannover. The language of these two groups is quite different, so that a good translator helps to ensure that our customer get the products they need with the most suitable technology we have available. My former experience as tire developer helps me a lot! And my portuguese is improving every day :-) Before I started working at Continental, I used to be a professional road cyclist. With my cycling team as well as with the German National Team I competed in World Cups, World Championships and international stage races all around the world (e.g. Giro d'Italia donna; Tour de L'Aude (womens pendant of the tour de France where we could win the Team Time Trial in 2009). You can imagine that our bikes were equipped with the best of Continental only ;-) (Tires: Force&Attack (training); ContiCompetition (competition))

Hopefully you may benefit from the insights I have gained over my many different experiences.

After having a great time at this department I decided to change to Project Controlling where I was working with 10 engineers. As I will complete my studies this summer I am currently writing my bachelor thesis at Strategic Cost Management in Division Interior. Beside all this I’m also business team leader of the Formula Student Team Regensburg. There I could arouse my interest to engineering and cars. From being a development engineer responsible for various camera algorithms I got fixed up with vehicle testing. Within the newly formed and fast growing Business Unit ADAS at Lindau I finally got the chance to build up the vehicle test and integration department. Starting out with 5 people in 2008, now over 150 engineers and test drivers world wide are integrating and testing our ADAS products intensively in the field. For the ADAS vehicle test department the sun never sets. There is always 24/7 driving activity around the globe.

I'm working at Continental Japan as J.DRIVE from April 2016. I'm interested in two things: how to control vehicle and how to control traffic. That's why after finished master course(2015.3) in control engineering, I had joined Cambridge Energy Data Lab as an Internship for 4 months(2015.3-7) to learn computer science. Continental is really exciting company for my interest, so I look forward to reading other author's post and sharing my experiences with you!
