For the 300 anniversary of the Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group, a subsidiary of Continental, we were able to participate in the annual celebration as a small trainee team from the location Weißbach. To give you some insights into our journey, we made a small diary about the week in early June we spent discovering more about the Benecke-Hornschuch Sourface Group.

Our team arrived in Hanover on Tuesday and our colleagues here gave us a warm welcome.  We also had the chance to take a look around and discover the city by ourselves.

On Wednesday, we went to the headquarters of the Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group, where we took a look at the whole area and networked with some colleagues. We were also able to catch a glimpse of the location of the 300th annual celebration and try out the latest developments. During the organization of the gala evening, we were able to try a hand. This was a chance for us to gain some interesting experience, such as the preparation and the positive stress as well as the joy and excitement of the event.

On Thursday, we attended our first official agenda point and made a trip to the “Autostadt Wolfsburg” (car city Wolfsburg). Especially interesting was the cultural mix ouf our group as well as the interest for each other. Together with colleagues from every corner of the world (since the Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group is a globally operating company) we were able to get some fascinating insights. After an interesting guided tour, a lunch and also the opportunity to self-explore the “Autostadt”, we took the bus back to Hanover. There, we were welcomed by a tour guide who brought us Hanover and its history closer.

We went back to the headquarters of the Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group on Friday. The day started with a very interesting factory tour in several small groups. Afterwards, we were invited to lunch in the canteen where we also had a delicious ice cream while enjoying the great weather. After an entertaining tour of the Mansions Gardens, we ended the evening in a stylish bar with delicious food and drinks.

Saturday, the day we were waiting for was finally there: the 300-year celebration of the Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group. Some of the exciting points on the agenda included Honors, vocal arts, dancers, fashion show, a huge light show performance and much more. Of course there were attractions for everyone, including kid makeup stations, a magician and bouncy castle for the children. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and were well provided with food and drinks. All in all, it was a successful festival that we will remember with a smile.

On Sunday we left and drove back home, marking an end to an exciting few days. We are thankful for the great memories created and the opportunity to celebrate with our colleagues.

That’s it from our side!

Best wishes from the trainee team at Weißbach, Jennifer & Vivien
