Konnichiwa! My name is Moritz Kempkes, I am 25 years old and I study electrical engineering at the Technsiche Universität Darmstadt (Germany).
To get some international experience I decided to take the opportunity to do an internship with Continental Yokohama for six months. I started in August within the ADAS Business Unit. I worked in the Global Software Backend and the Problem Resolution Management. There I was mainly responsible to visualize the course of projects. This do not only provided me with a great insight on software-projects, but also on Japans work life. I was lucky to work within an amazing international team, who supported me in my learning process and made me feel more than welcome. We had a lot of fun during work and after, for example at our end of year and Christmas party!
Apart from an interesting work experience I also had the chance to discover a beautiful country; the sunrise on Mount Fuji, the busy cities, the exotic food and so much more! Memories that will stay with me forever and places I will miss a lot. A big thank you to all my colleagues and friends who supported me on my Japan adventure.
If you are in the same situation as me, wondering if you should take a risk and go abroad, I can only advise you one thing:
Go for it!
