23 July 2014 – Continental Automotive Singapore participated in the Technische Universität München Asia 2014 Graduation Ceremony at Stephen Riady Centre. The graduation ceremony included the honoring of approximately 150 Bachelor and Master Degree students. TUM Asia, the first German academic venture abroad, was established by Technische Universität München (TUM) to bring German engineering to Asia. Continental Automotive Singapore as one of the representatives of the industry partners sponsored the “Best Thesis Award” for this ceremony.

The recipient for this award is a recent hired Software Engineer, Lim Wei Ting. Since young, Wei Ting has always aspired to become an engineer because of her father’s influence. In 2013, she joined Continental as an intern and due to her a great internship experience she has decided to embark her engineering career with us.

“I am greatly honored to have received the “Best Thesis Award” among the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology cohort, sponsored by Continental and even had the opportunity to receive the plaque personally from the Human Resources Director, Ms Angie Chua. I offer my sincerest gratitude to Continental for this honor and a special thank to Marilyn Yong, Angie Chua and Nikki Lin for gracing the event. As a fresh graduate and new hire of Continental, receiving the award from the organization has put across a clear message not only to me, but also our employees on how Continental values her staff as well as her willingness to show continued support to the growth and development of her people and  her recognition of hard work.

Colleagues here are always attentive and ready to help, which allows me to understand how to work effectively at the task that I was doing. I must say that I have learned a lot since the start of my internship where I had zero knowledge about the cluster and simulation. It is indeed a great privilege to be surrounded by these wonderful people who have guided me along the way, answer all my questions and clarify my doubts.

Now, I am much more familiar and confident at handling my tasks on my own. I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship experience and I am grateful to Continental for giving me the opportunity to continue to grow and mature with her even after my internship. I strongly believe that my journey with Continental will be a fruitful one.”

We would like to thank Wei Ting for sharing her experiences at Continental in Singapore in this article and choosing us as her Employer of Choice after her graduation. Likewise Continental also believes strongly that her journey with us will be a fruitful one.
