On the top of the Mechelen Cathedral

We, Maricel-Victor Fischer and Sascha Reckewell, are two enthusiastic German job seekers who participate in the “We LOVE Europe” initiative launched by Continental. After a great and unique 14 days experience in Toulouse (France), we are now in Continental Automotive Plant Mechelen in Belgium. We arrived in Mechelen by train and were picked-up by our host, Christoph, who brought us to his home. There we ate the tasty Belgian “French fries”.

Quality control in Production

On Monday we arrived at the Plant by bike and started with an intensive, extended program. We will had the possibility to get some insights and practice in different departments like Tools, Maintenance, Quality Inspection or  Production. We met a lot of different people and it is very interesting to see what activities they are doing in the plant. In that way we could figure out for ourselves what our talents and interests are. We could also experience the Belgian culture and food because in our free time we visited already Mechelen city and climbed on the top of its well-known Cathedral. The view was very beautiful. The Belgian coast, the Atomium in Brussels and a BBQ with our guest family are still on the agenda. All in all this was a great experience and it will for sure help us on  a both personal and professional level.
